Overview

MeeGo is a new Linux-based embedded platform, which essentially combines Moblin of Intel and Maemo of Nokia. Both of these platforms are also based on the Linux OS, and applications built on Moblin or Maemo will be compatible with the MeeGo.

MeeGo is an open source Linux project, and it is managed by the Linux Foundation. Therefore, mobile developers will greatly benefit from Linux's free character.

Even more important, Qt is MeeGo's UI/application development environment. This will save programmers both time and energy. Code once and target multiplatform is Qt's advantage. MeeGo will be used on many mobile information devices, and this greatly expand opportunities for mobile developers.
