The Microsoft C++ compiler is no longer supported from March 2009 and have been removed from the MSDN download sites and used in the old Symbian OS SDKs to compile against WINS target platform. The newer Symbian OS SDKs do not require Microsoft C++ compiler any longer. They use an x86 compiler to compile for the emulator. The target platform for the x86 compiler is called WINSCW.
Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 2008 is supported for Qt in the Standard release, Express versions are not officially supported. MSDN has removed support for version C++ 2001, 2003, 2005 and MS VC++ v6.0 SP3 as of March 2009, resulting in Nokia removing support for these compilers.
