Mobile Sensor API (JSR 256) allows developers to get data from embedded sensors, as well as from sensors connected via infrared, Bluetooth or GPRS. Examples of embedded sensors are accelerometers and sensors giving information of the device state, such as a network field intensity and a battery charge sensor.
