Introduction

Besides the official support for touch API in Python 1.9.3, an interesting demo called scribble was included in the distribution. Scribble was designed to demonstrate how to use touch events and how to create canvas applications using PySymbian for 5th edition phones.

In this article it is demonstrate how Scribble could be recreated when used together with toolbar on canvas. The video and pictures below are self explanatory.

Source code and sis

Source code, sis and images can be download from Scribble demo revisited repository.

For running from sources, do the following:

  • copy default.py into e:\python\
  • copy all png files into e:\data\python\
  • copy ctoolbar.py into e:\python\lib
  • using python shell, run default.py
