MODERATORS NOTE:- For application signing purposes the developer has two major options Nokia (Ovi) Store and/or the traditional Symbian Signing. The main difference between the two is that having Nokia Store to handle the signing for you is easier (they will take care of all the necessary publisher and application IDs) and at no cost - but you will be able to publish your application in the Nokia Store only. Going through the traditional Symbian Signing, on the other hand, means additional cost and workflow for you, but you will be able to publish your application in your own market place as well as in the Nokia Store.

The Nokia Store publisher channel will support individual developer with FREE Symbian Signing (owning a costly a Publisher ID is not necessary). For more information please refer to http://www.developer.nokia.com/Distribute/Packaging_and_signing.xhtml

The Symbian Signed Test Houses provide the testing and signing for the Certified Signed signing option.

From 1st July 2011 Sogeti HT will test all Certified Signed submissions at a cost of 230€ (previously €150) per submission to the developer.

The previous Symbian Signed Test Houses, mPhasis and NSTL, left the Certified Signed programme in March 2010 and are no longer available as options when submitting to Certified Signed. These test houses are available to Nokia special programmes, more information: nokia.testing(at)nokia.com.
