Overview

What are the string values that System.getProperty("microedition.platform") returns, for example, for Nokia 3650, Nokia 7650, Nokia N-Gage™ mobile game deck, and Nokia 6600?

Solution

The general format for the returned value is "Nokia XXXX/x.yz", where XXXX is the device model and x.yz is the software version number. Thus this system property can be used for asking the used software version. This works in a similar way in Series 40 devices.
