In Symbian devices (S60 5th Edition, Symbian^3), the first touch down and release on editable text field opens the touch input window (virtual keyboard).

There are four kinds of Virtual Keyboard supported in 5th Edition (as shown below). Symbian Anna introduces a new qwerty split screen keyboard (not show).
