Advanced Multimedia Supplements (JSR-234) extends MMAPI Mobile Media API, supporting recent hardware innovations. The new APIs will rely on MMAPI.

Some of the new features:

Access to advanced audio processing capabilities like positional 3D audio, equalizer and other audio effects.
Access to camera-specific controls such as flash, focus, exposure settings, and zooming.
Proper access to FM radio.
Image post-processing including cropping, mirroring and overlays.

Parts of this API are implemented on Nokia devices (Series 40 5th Edition devices onwards and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 devices onwards).
