Overview

Resolving the key mapping for special modifier keys

Description

The key mapping for a particular key can be retrieved as described in the technical solution TSS000415.
However, CPTIEngine does not provide a direct method for resolving the correct mapping for all modifier keys. One such key is the blue function (Fn) key in the Nokia E61.

Solution

The correct key mapping value that corresponds to the blue function key can be identified in two ways:
1) Just before the character code there is a special marker value in keymap data which indicates that the next character corresponds to a modifier key. For the blue Fn key, the marker value is 0x2464 (in hexadecimal).
2) For numeric keys, the value always the last one in the key mapping.
