The GPS positioning methods can only be enabled or disabled by the end user of the phone in S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1. Positioning methods cannot be changed programmatically.

There is an API in the S60 3rd Ed, FP2 SDK plug-in to launch the location settings UI from an application. For more information, see Archived:Location Settings Launch Symbian API.
