Series 40 is Nokia's platform for mass market featurephones - at time of writing there are more than one billion in use worldwide. Apps are primarily written using Java ME, which provides deep and broad access to platform functionality. If you're writing apps to interact with a web service, Series 40 web apps provide a compelling alternative development framework (these run in Nokia Web Browser for Series 40 but look like native apps and can be sold through Nokia Store). Content also represents an opportunity, such as various media types and the creation of UI themes.
On this page you will find key links to various information about the Series 40 platform, as well as a list of articles in the Series 40 category. Note that this is by no means an exhaustive list of categories related to Series 40 - see the Java ME and Series 40 Web Apps categories for more topics.
