This category is used like a tag to indicate that a topic is known to be relevant to Symbian. Symbian was the first platform specifically developed for smartphones - it started the smartphone revolution and until 2011 was Nokia's main smartphone platform. It is still an extremely popular and efficient smartphone platform, sold in more locations than any other mobile OS.
The recommended development platform for Symbian is Qt (using Qt Quick for the UI). Apps can also be developed on Symbian using native Symbian C++, Symbian Web Runtime, Python and Java ME, to name just a few.
