Developed using Qt, this application enables users to request automotive breakdown service, and forward their exact location to the AA. Users can also check local traffic problems, and manage common automotive reminders such as vehicle tax and insurance renewal.

Visuals

• The application’s graphics, visual style, and colour choices are high contrast, and well aligned with the AA brand.
• Buttons and controls are large, easy to manipulate, and well optimised for touch interactions.

Interaction

• Primary navigation consists of a menu on the application’s home page. A back button enables users to return to this menu from most views.
• When needed, GPS is used to pre-populate and transmit location information, or provide details of roadworks taking place close by. This information is displayed using an embedded version of Ovi Maps, which can be filtered to improve legibility.
• In certain contexts, users can also switch to a searchable list view.

Overall

• Occasional helpful prompts remind users to complete their profile, which will enable them to receive reminders and will ensure they can easily be contacted by breakdown repair vehicles.
