Developed for Windows Phone, this application enables users to search hundreds of travel sites at once to find a flight, hotel or rental car. Users can set alerts and even keep track of a flight's progress in real time using Bing maps.

Visuals

• The user interface is high contrast and well aligned with the KAYAK brand.
• The application uses the native Segoe font, ensuring a clean, light, and open look.
• Buttons, dialogues and iconography all use the default Modern UI look.

Interaction

• The application opens with a vertical list containing common travel search activities.
• Flights are easy to search for using a series of native and bespoke input controls. These include a calendar, a selection of input toggles and a bespoke multi-trip input grid. Search results are displayed in a list. Once the user selects a flight from this list, they can then navigate that flight's detail by swiping through a series of panels.
• Users can also filter results by tapping an icon on the application bar. A second application bar icon enables users to sort results by price, recommendation level, and other criteria specific to the activity.
• Users can navigate back from all views using the dedicated hardware key.

Overall

• Users can create and configure flight alerts. These are programmed to trigger daily or weekly device notifications or emails containing the latest fare for a given route.
• Users can also add specific flights to the flight tracker. This service enables them to keep track of key flight data and view the plane's progress in real time using a Bing map.
