logo Application

Sep 2011

Developed using Qt, this simple yet versatile application enables users to track their expenses, analyse their spending habits and (hopefully) save money.

Visuals

  • The application has a fun, whimsical feel thanks to its mascot and smartly designed visual style.
  • Layouts are varied, well chosen to match the content, and enhanced by strong page-level information design.
  • Forms are clearly laid out using an easy to read font, and large well-designed buttons and controls.
  • Input elements have been well aligned with their respective task, and are ideally sized for touch manipulation.

Interaction

  • Primary navigation consists of a menu bar at the top of most views.
  • Adding a new expense is simple using the large, persistent "+" button located at the bottom of most views. Subsequent steps are well defined and presented in logical order, and with a clear information hierarchy.
  • Simple transitions are incorporated to enhance the navigation.
  • Short, subtle animations are used to indicate changes in state such as focussing or enabling a setting or input field.

Overall

  • Users can register for premium features and additional data tracking directly from the application.
  • A non-touch version of the application is also available.
Nokia Developer aims to help you create apps and publish them so you can connect with users around the world.
