REST APIs and geolocation in Nokia web apps
This webinar demonstrates how to use the new REST APIs that are part of HERE Maps (formerly Nokia Maps) in your Nokia web apps. In live coding demonstrations, we show how to use the Nokia Map Image API for rendering maps and the Places API for finding and navigating to nearby points of interest. We also demonstrate use of the W3C Geolocation API (JavaScript™), which enables web apps to find a user’s current location.
Localising Series 40 web apps
Consumers want content and apps that are relevant to their lives, and they have plenty of suitable choices when they browse Nokia Store. If your app is presented in a language in which they’re not skilled, they’re likely to tire of it soon or they may not download it at all. The Nokia Web Tools suite makes it easy for you to localise your web app to increase downloads and engagement and to improve user experience. In this webinar, Series 40 web tools expert Naresh Kumar demonstrates how easy it is to localise Series 40 web apps for multiple languages and regions. We suggest that you install the Nokia Web Tools suite before viewing the webinar. You’ll be able to understand the training without the software, but you’ll learn more overall by starting to practise with it right after the session. Full recordings:
