Device Description

The thinnest Nokia Eseries quad-band phone (EGSM 850/900/1800/1900), the Nokia E50 supports GSM networks worldwide. The Nokia E50 is designed for people who want a single phone for both business and leisure use. For example, the device comes equipped with pre-installed business applications, exceptional voice and calling functionality, and the ability to have two phone numbers in one phone, while lifestyle features include an MP3 player and optionally a 1.3 mega pixel camera

Carbide.ui is a family of tools that enables the creation of themes for Symbian and Series 40 phones. Carbide.ui provides professionals and hobbyists alike with an easy to use tool that can customise almost every aspect of the look and feel of a phone's UI.

Carbide.c++ is an IDE for developing Symbian C++ and Open C/C++ for Symbian devices. Version 3.2 is available, offering support for S60 5th Edition and Symbian^3 software development, a lightweight installer, and extension plug-ins for additional features.

Recommended SDK(s)

The S60 SDKs for Symbian OS enable application development for devices based on the S60 platform using C++. The SDK includes all key resources needed for application development, such as documentation, API reference, and an emulator. An IDE is not included; Carbide.c++ is recommended.

S60 Platform SDK for Symbian OS, for Java™ MIDP allows developers to quickly and efficiently run and test Java applications for devices built on the S60 platform. Using a Java™ IDE, development with the SDK is hosted on a PC.
