Short bio:
Melvyn Suan is currently a Manager in the School of Information Technology, Nanyang Polytechnic Singapore. Besides lecturing, he is also the staff member of the Centre for IT Innovation (CITI) within the institution where he manages the research and development of mobile innovation within the school. His vast experience in project management and technical know-how are recognized through industrial accreditations such as the Certified IT Project Manager (Associate) endorsed by the Singapore Computer Society (SCS), Nokia Certified Trainer (NCT), Accredited Symbian Developer (ASD), S60 Accredited Developer (S60AD), Sun Certified Mobile Application Developer (SCMAD) etc. His contribution to the mobile developer community is manifested through the passion to share his mobile experience whenever there is an opportunity. Being a Nokia Certified Trainer, Melvyn has conducted more than 15 training classes in various technologies such as S60 Development, SIP Development, Nokia Web Runtime and Java Micro Edition, both in Singapore and countries in the region including Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.
