Established in 1961, the College of Engineering at San Diego State University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees through its four departments. The Embedded Systems and Pervasive Computing Center and Nokia partnership laboratory is a unit of the college of engineering. The Nokia partneship laboratory was established in 2005, and offers graduate courses in mobile computing and wireless sensor networks. The laboratory also organises several seminars throughout the year in the area of human-centric sensor networks, wireless sensor networks, and mobile computing. The laboratory is home to several graduate students and three faculty working in the broad area of wireless sensor networks, mobile computing, multimedia, wireless healthcare, and smart grids.
