Create prototypes before writing a line of code
Flowella enables designers and developers to create prototype applications using screen mock-ups; be they scanned images of hand-sketches or images created using the Symbian^3 Wireframing Stencils or the Symbian^3 Concepting and Presentation Stencils. |

Prototyping made easy
All too often early design work — such as screen sketches, wireframes, and layout concepts — is replaced with coded screens before design work has been finalised, leading to potentially expensive and time consuming recoding. With Flowella designers and developers have a tool that brings design sketches to life, enables their usability to be tested and designs refined before a line of code needs to be written.
Runs on Air |
No coding |
Flowella can be run on any computer that supports Adobe Air. This means designers can create and preview prototypes on their favourite platform. |
Flowella prototypes are created using images in PNG or JPG formats, no coding is required. Use scanned images or the output from tools such as Adobe PhotoShop or GIMP. |
Touch and non-touch |
Series 40, Symbian, and Maemo |
Flowella supports the creation of prototypes for both touch and non-touch devices, enabling the discovery of optimal interaction between these interface paradigms. |
Test prototypes for all the platforms used in Nokia devices with the simulator built into Flowella. Ideal for cross-platform Qt and Java applications. |
Hands on for Series 40 and Symbian |
Reuse, rework |
Export prototypes as Adobe Flash Lite apps and WRT widgets. Run these on compatible Series 40 and Symbian devices for truly hands-on prototype feedback. |
As designs progress, update graphics and flows to reuse the prototype and refine your design. Now application design questions can be resolved before coding, saving time and money. |

Getting started
To assist you in getting started, the Flowella Tutorial provides a step-by-step guide to using the features of the tool. The tutorial shows how to create the Flowella podcast widget example, which is available for download also.
