Step 4: Test in the emulator or move to a device

To test the widget in the emulator, do the following:

  1. Open the Windows Command prompt by selecting Start > Run, entering cmd, and clicking OK.
  2. To open the emulator, enter command epoc and press Enter.
  3. To install the .wgz file in the emulator, do the following:
    1. Open the File manager in the emulator.
    2. Select Phone Memory.
    3. Choose folder Other.
    4. To install the AccuWidget.wgz, open the file.
  4. Once installed, open the widget by selecting Menu > Applications > AccuWidget in the emulator.

To move the widget to a device, do the following:

  1. Locate the AccuWidget.wgz file on your computer. It is located in the project directory on the computer, for example, C:\Workspace\AccuWidget.
  2. Use either cable or Bluetooth connection to transfer the file AccuWidget.wgz to your device.
  3. Check that the Internet connection on your device works.
  4. Select the AccuWidget.wgz on your device to install it.
  5. Open the widget by selecting Menu > Applications > AccuWidget on the device.
